The adventure to the Artists Village

Yay first post! Let's see if i become an addicted blogger.

I actually have something interesting to report about my life! Score.
Anyway. Yesterday my friend and I went to this place in downtown Santa Ana called the Artists Village. We were going to see the comic book artist named Crumb (the exhibit is called R. Crumbs Underground). Even though I'm not really into comic book art it turned out to actually be pretty cool! And what made it even more impressive is that he did some of it using printmaking, which i learned in history of art is not quite that easy. This guys is 80 years old..and hes been doing this for years. Pretty impressive, even though some of it was kinda dirty..but all in all i found it to be very interesting.

After that we went to this really cool coffee shop/restaurant call the Gypsy Den. This place was awesome. It was very bohemian. They had all these really neat paintings and rugs hung all over the walls. And they had all this really neat old furniture. You could eat at a table or just lounge in all these different areas. And the food was also very tasty.
After that we went into this 3 story building to just look around and see the galleries. But for some odd reason they were all close. Bummer. But we did find this place called the Art Den or . It was this neat little art supply shop/ art workshop/ random stuff. Then we went upstairs to this one gallery that was actually open, yay, and we were greeted by Harely the slightly over weight labrador. We spent like 20 minutes talking to this very interesting artist guy named Joseph some foreign last name i can't spell. Anyway, there was this necklace there that my friend really liked it was rectangular shaped sterling silver with black onyx on it. And what made it really cool was that is had SM to DM engraved on the back of it. How romantic. He gave it to her for 10$!! What a buy! And it's real..not fake. Really good buy. The her proceeded to tell us about this huge art festival that happens ever first saturday of the month and told us that we should come because it's the place to be. So hopefully i shall return there tonight if i don't have to work. Cross your fingers.
Hm wow long first post.
